I took an interest in music at a young age, people often ask when I
started, or when I first picked up a guitar and to be honest I can't really
remember ever not doing it. As well as the guitar, I also play the bass,
drums, mandolin, ukulele, dobro and the pedal steel guitar. I even took
grade 2 clarinet.
I've been a professional musician since 2002 and in that time have performed countless times in all sorts of bands and venues across the UK and Europe. After graduating from music college in Birmingham I set up as a guitar teacher, I do this both privately and also in several different schools. I find it incredibly rewarding and get a lot of enjoyment from it.
I started my gigging life in a couple of covers bands playing pubs and clubs every weekend. I always had a passion for songwriting and went off to persue originals projects, I released a solo EP called Electrical Language (still available on iTunes here i believe!). Me and a few friends travelled all over the place and supported numerous people from 'wishbone ash' to 'john power' (cast). Around this time I was also part of an electronica outfit called 'Rekelectrik' the band had dealings with Sony and a highlight was playing the 2009 Quart festival in Norway alongside bands such as Placebo, Black Eyed Peas, Slash and Ozzy Osbourne.
At the minute, as well as my solo act and a few covers bands, I also play in a successful tribute act to 'The JAM' called 'Maximum JAM', we play all over the country and are sponsored by Lambretta clothing, carnaby st. We also spent a short period of time as Neville Staple's (the Specials) backing band.
My self written album entitled 'First Love, Last Hope' was released in 2017 and can be found on all streaming media sites (itunes, spotify, amazon etc)
